WTS International designs and manages pioneering EOS Wellness facility in Kuala Lumpur
POSTED 12 Apr 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen
The ‘Fit’ studio can accommodate group exercise classes such as yoga and Zumba, and showcases the highly-configurable Queenax workout system
Spa, fitness and lifestyle consultancy WTS International (WTS) has debuted its latest venture, the newly-opened EOS Wellness in Kuala Lumpur's St Mary Residences.

The project has been completed in conjunction with Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O), Malaysia’s premier lifestyle property development group. E&O is introducing EOS Wellness as part of a broader strategy to nurture a wellness pillar to complement its core property development business. WTS was responsible for the concept, design and pre-opening of the property, and will also manage it.

“EOS Wellness is a pioneering spa and fitness facility, and it has been a pleasure to work on this project with the team at E&O,” said Mary Lynn Mellinger, director of planning and design for WTS International. “We’ve gathered the very latest equipment and facilities and married them with indulgent, results-driven treatments for a true holistic wellness experience.”

The 7,400sq ft (687sq m) EOS Wellness spa features four single ‘Curo’ treatment rooms, and two couples ‘Duo’ rooms with the latest in wellness equipment, including a full-spectrum infrared sauna, a Jason MicroSilk Hydrotherapy bath and a Gharieni 360-degree floating bed that replicates a Watsu experience on water, as the tabletop glides back and forth during the treatment.

“When it comes to wellbeing, we don’t believe in compromising on expertise or quality, which is why we chose to partner with WTS International,” said Carolyn Peh, assistant general manager at EOS Wellness.

“WTS – which has designed and opened more than 300 properties in over 30 countries and has decades of spa, fitness and lifestyle experience – helped us to create this urban wellness spa. We see EOS Wellness becoming a vital component in E&O’s wellness pillar, which we are currently shaping as a fitting complement to our properties.”

Two studios have been designed at an elevated space overlooking a saltwater pool. The ‘Flow’ studio is used by guests to relax, unwind and improve psychological wellbeing, and can be used for personal training and meditation, as well as bespoke wellness sessions.

The ‘Fit’ studio can accommodate group exercise classes such as yoga and Zumba, and showcases the highly-configurable Queenax workout system to allow for versatile strength and cardio training, as well as freestyle and suspension training. Here, guests can work with ARKE – Technogym’s Core Centric Training tools – which have been designed to enhance natural, day-to-day movements. The Fit studio will also include the latest in fitness offerings, such as Anti-Gravity Yoga and UFO Training.

The Relaxation Lounge opens onto an outdoor relaxation area, complete with al fresco spa dining promoting wellness in three goal categories: Trim, Boost and Glow. As part of the programme that will be rolled out in stages, EOS Wellness will offer nutritional counselling with nutritionists trained in food biochemistry, metabolism and weight management.

“The spa showcases some of the best brands in the wellness world, and is the first in the country to use products by Mesoestetic, one of the most technologically-advanced medical skincare companies in the world,” said Dr Abhishek Jain, vice president, South East Asia, India and Middle East for WTS International.

“Clients can experience the signature PhotoGen technology,” he continued. “This combines radiofrequency, phototherapy and medical cosmetics, as well as Transcutaneous Mesodermic Therapy (TMT) equipment – which uses electrophoroporation – to create a treatment which is non-invasive, fast, safe and highly-effective.”

EOS Wellness also uses products from natural, Ayurvedic-based skincare brand Sundari, as well as Italian skincare brand [comfort zone], plus its own specially conceptualised EOS Signature house brand.

“Whether to return your body to harmony, treat your soul, or to recover from too much excess, our selection of treatments is designed to complement each other perfectly,” said EOS Wellness facility manager Sarawut Daranut.
