Ikos to invest €200m in Corfu and Kos
POSTED 05 Dec 2016 . BY Deven Pamben
Anne Semonin spa reception at Ikos Olivia
Ikos Resorts is doubling its property portfolio by investing €200million (US$213m; £168m) in two Greek island hotels, each one housing an Anne Semonin spa.

The first hotel will open in Corfu in May 2018, with the other opening in Kos a year later.

Ikos, which launched two years ago, has bought Corfu Chandris and Dassia Chandris hotels. It will spend €110m (US$117m, £92m) on the purchase and renovation of both properties, turning them into a single 5-star hotel. The Ikos Dassia will have approximately 410 rooms and suites.

The company will spend a further €90m on the acquisition and renovation of Club Med in Kefalos, Kos. The 5-star Ikos Kefalos will also have approximately 410 rooms and suites.

The new hotels will follow the same philosophy of the company’s two other properties, Ikos Olivia and Ikos Oceania. Its ‘Infinite Lifestyle’ concept offers “premier accommodation for both families and couples, with the benefits of an all-inclusive package.”

Dr Andreas A Andreadis, Ikos Resorts CEO, said: “We want to build on the achievements of the last two years, to further develop the Ikos brand and introduce the ‘Infinite Lifestyle’ concept to Kos and Corfu. We will continue to invest not only in Ikos Resorts, but also in the local economies by employing local people and the continued overall development and progression of Greek tourism.”

Details on the Anne Semonin spas at the hotels are yet to be released.

Its 529sq m (5,694sq ft) Anne Semonin spa at Ikos Olivia features eight treatment rooms: four single suites, each with a shower; one couples’ suite with a shower and private steambath, one Thai/shiatsu room, one hairdressing room and one nail treatment room. The Parisian bodycare range by Anne Semonin is used in body treatments, facials, massages, nail treatments, waxing and hairdressing.
