Paul Schmidt is leaving nonprofit trade association Green Spa Network after three years of service, effective 2 June.

The sustainability organisation’s board of directors said “it is with sadness and gratitude” that they announced his departure. “During his three-year tenure, Paul provided our organisation with dedicated service, which involved many significant accomplishments, including growing the network to over 1400 members; bringing the Sustainability Assessment Tool (SAT) to market; and producing six industry events.”

Schmidt said: “It has truly been an honor to serve the greater spa and wellness community through my work with GSN. I’ve been humbled by the opportunity to steward GSN’s incredible vision of vital people, vital planet. Thank you for supporting the heart in our spa community and having the courage to stand for a future we can all live with.”

Green Spa Network is searching to identify a new executive director. In the interim, the immediate point of contact is membership coordinator Kate Sornson.

Green Spa Network has also announced a date and location for its next industry conference, set to take place 11-14 March 2018 at Carmel Valley Ranch in California.
