Nigel Huddleston, minister for tourism, will give a keynote speech at this year's Tourism Conference
The focus of the event is rebuilding the UK tourism industry
Another highlight is a panel discussion on the recent Independent Review of DMOs
The event is organised in partnership by the Tourism Alliance, The Tourism Society and British Destinations
Nigel Huddleston, the UK's minister for tourism, will give a keynote speech at the 2021 Tourism Conference which takes place in London on 15 November.

The focus of the one-day conference will be the rebuilding of the UK's tourism industry, following the disruption caused by the pandemic.

The event, at the Royal Over-Seas League in St James Park, London, will also see a panel discussion on the recent Independent Review of Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) with the discussion being led by Nick de Bois, chair of Visit England, and featuring Nick Brooks-Sykes, vice-chair of the Tourism Alliance, and Amanda Lumley, president of the Tourism Management Institute.

Sessions will include Responding to Climate Change – by Lizzy Carlyle, head of environmental practices at the National Trust – and another looking at the rebuilding of the UK's tourism industry, given by Tourism Alliance director Kurt Janson.

Julia Simpson, World Travel and Tourism Council CEO and President, will present a session titled The Prospects for International Tourism.

The event is being organised by the Tourism Alliance, The Tourism Society and British Destinations.

Amy Mustoe from the Tourism Society, said: "The conference will be very timely as, with there being no CSR announcement on funding to support the DMO review, any funding for this will have to come through the DCMS internal resource allocation process.

"This should be completed within the next two weeks, meaning that the session with Nick de Bois will be able to discuss the implementation of the recommendations in the context of knowing how much resource has been allocated to this."

You can sign up for the conference here.
