Balanced Body celebrates 25 years of innovation with launch of Allegro Nextgen Reformer

23 Sep 2025
Reformer Allegro Nextgen Platform Extender / Balanced Body
Revolutionary Infinity Footbar and enhanced design features mark milestone anniversary of
best-selling Allegro Reformer

Balanced Body, the world’s leading resource for Pilates, mind and body movement equipment and professional training, has announced the launch of the Allegro Nextgen Reformer, marking the 25th anniversary of the original, Allegro Reformer which has become the gold standard in Pilates studios worldwide.

Since its introduction in 2000, the Allegro Reformer was quickly established as best-in-class for performance, durability, and accessibility with more than 40,000 in use across the world today. As the global industry continues to experience explosive growth and interest in Pilates, Balanced Body has revamped the Allegro Reformer to meet the evolving needs of Pilates educators, practitioners and users.

"For years, we've referred to the Allegro Reformer as our 'workhorse,’ and its high performance, low maintenance, affordable and versatile attributes have made it an all-around crowd pleaser," said Ken Endelman, Founder and CEO, Balanced Body. "The Allegro Nextgen Reformer has the proven performance and durability of the original with newly-added features to meet the progressive Pilates exercise demands of today's users and Group Reformer classes."

The centre-piece of the Allegro Nextgen Reformer is the groundbreaking Infinity Footbar which dramatically expands exercise possibilities for users while maintaining the rigorous performance standards the Allegro line is known for. The innovative footbar offers 10 horizontal and four vertical positions along the full length of the reformer, enabling a vast array of exercises, progressions and dynamic athletic reformer work. Working off both ends of the Reformer (head end and foot end) is rapidly becoming highly desired in today’s Group Reformer classes.

The Allegro Nextgen Reformer combines the signature design elements that made the Allegro a worldwide success with revolutionary new key features and accessories, including:

Streamlined Design: The footbar's sleek profile with no protrusions makes it easier for instructors to walk around when teaching classes and working with clients

Simplified Assembly: The new leg design is easier to attach to the Reformer, reducing onsite assembly time

Enhanced Stability: Thicker risers provide superior strength and stability for dynamic reformer work

Contemporary Aesthetics: Updated design complements modern studio environments

Streamlined Infinity Footbar has ergonomically designed plungers to easily move and position footbar along frame, and offers 10 horizontal and 4 vertical positions with vastly greater breadth of exercises

Contemporary new leg design is easier to assemble and complements the streamlined footbar and overall look

New thicker risers are super strong, stable and are designed to stand up to the rigors of dynamic reformer work

Upholstered carriage with tapered edges for enhanced gripping capability

Smooth, quiet carriage ride: Eight-wheel suspension system, featuring four vertical wheels and four adjustable sidewheels

Five Signature Springs: Three red, one blue, one yellow

Built-in standing platform (with pad)

Three-position headrest with cervical pad support for comfort

Ergonomically shaped Twistlock shoulder rests

Premium padded double loops

Innovative SoftTouch rope system is quiet and easy to adjust

Integrated transport wheels to easily move and store upright

Premium vinyl upholstery is available in 10 standard and 20 premium colours

Optional configurations include 14-inch legs and Tower and Mat conversions, plus a complete line of accessories is available, including the Extended Head End Platform, Platform Extender, Jumpboard, Sitting Box, and various retrofit kits for enhanced functionality.

Testimonial
" Every Studio we’ve opened since 2007, we’ve equipped with Balanced Body Reformers - including our new Kings Cross flagship studio. There are good reasons why they remain our brand of choice. One, the relationship we have with Ken, and the Balanced Body team. And two, the equipment you use says a lot about you as a brand. They’re not cheap but you absolutely get what you pay for. Their reformers are rock solid, easy to adjust and practically indestructible - despite some of our clients’ best efforts!"
– Justin Rogers, Creative Director, Ten Health & Fitness
Testimonial
Balanced Body equipment was essential in providing LifeTime customers with premium Pilates experiences. They are exceptional in terms of quality, timeliness, and customer service. Our account manager provided on-time consultation, equipment, and parts delivery for our 200+ locations. Balanced Body even customized a reformer to meet the needs of our discerning Pilates instructors! I highly recommend Balanced Body as the best Pilates partner.
– Eduardo Perez, consultant, Pilates club industry and former Director of Pilates, LifeTime Inc
