As Latin America (LATAM) continues to usher in a new era of architectural ambition, sustainable luxury and world-class sport, Myrtha Pools is preparing to deliver three flagship projects that capture the region’s evolving identity. From a soaring oceanfront residential icon in Mexico, to what may be the longest indoor competition pool in the world in Bogotá, to a reborn Uruguayan legend envisioned by the architect Rafael Viñoly, these initiatives embody both technological advancement and the millimetric precision of Myrtha engineering.
Engineering art at ocean’s edge
Mazatlán’s coastline is set to welcome a new architectural protagonist: Stelarhe, a futuristic dual-tower residential development rising 30 storeys high and connected by two dramatic aerial bridges. Designed as a visual homage to the Pacific’s sinuous waves, the project integrates strength and elegance in equal measure.
Stelarhe boasts uninterrupted ocean vistas and is engineered to withstand winds in excess of 350 km/h. With 47,000 m² of built space, 192 luxury residences and 10 penthouses, it pushes the boundaries of structural resilience. This philosophy aligns with Myrtha's proven ability to construct pools that can withstand tropical typhoons and other extreme environmental conditions.
Water is central to the lifestyle experience envisioned for Stelarhe. The development features a total of 16 pools, four of which are located in the shared amenity spaces and have been constructed using Myrtha modular stainless steel technology: an ideal solution for elevated, high-performance environments where lightness, strength and flexibility are essential. The remaining pools, located within the penthouses, will be lined with Myrtha Skin and materic finishes to ensure aesthetic refinement and long-term reliability.
Stelarhe stands as one of the most ambitious residential showcases of Myrtha technology in the region.
Bogotá’s new aquatic benchmark
In the heart of Colombia’s capital, Myrtha Pools is contributing to a groundbreaking public development: the Centro Deportivo, Recreativo y Cultural Gibraltar. At its core lies an extraordinary 78m competition pool equipped with two movable bulkheads a configuration that positions it as likely the longest indoor competition pool in the world.
Commissioned by IDRD, Bogotá’s municipal Ministry of Sport, and overseen by Sinergym, the project underscores the city’s commitment to offering elite-standard aquatic facilities to its citizens. Construction is led by AMR Construcciones, with Myrtha also supplying the advanced Martin Aquatics filtration system.
Set for installation in the first half of 2026, the Gibraltar project will strengthen Bogotá’s status as a regional hub for aquatic sport, training and community engagement. It represents a bold investment in public sport infrastructure, and a testament to how Myrtha’s modular stainless-steel solutions continue to support cities seeking durable, adaptable and competition-ready pools.
Reimagining an Icon with elevated luxury
On Uruguay’s celebrated coastline, the Cipriani Punta del Este Resort ushers in a new chapter for the legendary Hotel San Rafael. Designed by the late, globally acclaimed Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, the masterplan features three towering high-rise structures – between 30 and 60 storeys – and a meticulous revitalisation of the historic hotel, harmonising glamour, efficiency and modern engineering.
Myrtha Pools will deliver four high-rise pools for the development: two indoor and two outdoor. One will be dedicated to a private penthouse, while the remaining three will serve the resort’s community wellness and leisure areas.
The complexity of the project has required exceptional coordination since from the design phase. Myrtha's involvement – supported by both Myrtha and RenovAction technologies – will therefore be essential to ensure that the final installations meet the luxury standards of the complex without sacrificing any of the structural requirements demanded by high-rise construction.
Structural works began earlier this year, and the pool installations are anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2026.
Myrtha's expanding LATAM footprint
Together, these three projects demonstrate the breadth and variety of Myrtha’s expanding presence in Latin America.
- In Mexico, the Stelarhe development combines high-rise design with water-centred living and remarkable structural resilience.
- In Colombia, the Gibraltar complex showcases the region’s growing commitment to public sports facilities and community well-being.
- In Uruguay, the Cipriani project reimagines contemporary luxury in the context of a reborn architectural icon.
Each initiative reflects the ways in which Myrtha’s technologies – including our self-supporting modular stainless-steel systems, water quality solutions, advanced recycled membranes and specialised renovation expertise – empower architects, developers and public authorities to realise their ambitious projects. Myrtha Pools is proud to play a part in creating a future where engineering excellence, architectural expression, and the allure of water converge to establish new landmarks throughout the LATAM region.
