The development of a £5.5m health and fitness facility at the Cadbury House Hotel and Country Club at Congresbury, near Bristol, is close to completion.

Part of a total £12.5m refurbishment of the hotel, the health club will open in April 2006.

Equipped by Technogym, the gym will boast 100 exercise stations alongside a 20m swimming pool, dedicated group cycling studio and another multi-functional studio.

A sauna and steamroom will be situated by the swimming pool and there will also be private sauna facilities for residents and guests to use in the changing rooms, which will also feature monsoon experience showers. A spa area with four treatment rooms is also undergoing construction.

Further work at the hotel will include the provision of new conference and banqueting facilities, to be built on the side of the existing hotel and completed by November 2006. Details: www.cadburyhouse.com
