The Rosewood Hotels & Resorts-owned Jumby Bay retreat in the West Indies is to undergo an extensive US$26m (18.3m, £14.5m) renovation.

The design aspect of the revamp is being masterminded by the US-based MCM Architects of Portland, Oregon, and will include the complete redesign and rebuilding of guest accommodations as well as adding a new resort spa and an oceanfront infinity pool.

The new spa will offer four treatment rooms, built around a sculpture garden, each with a private courtyard.

Chief Operating Officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Robert Boulogne, said: “The renewal of Jumby Bay is a significant validation of Rosewood’s dedication to providing the highest level of service and attention to detail.”

Taking place over the next 12 months, the renovation is scheduled for completion and reopening in mid-2009.
