African expansion for Camelot Spa Group
POSTED 13 May 2008 . BY Sarah Todd
The Camelot Spa Group – which currently has 13 spas in South Africa – plans to open a further 10 spas by the beginning of 2009.

The latest site to open is the R5m (US$0.63m, 0.4m euro, £0.3m) Camelot Spa at Velmore Estate in the Hennops River Valley, South Africa.

The 5,381sq ft (500sq m) spa has eight treatment rooms, a multi-jet vitality pool and a crystal Turkish steamroom.

An outdoor treatment garden contains a number of features including a reflexology pebble path, gazebo and Kniepp pools.

Signature rituals are based on the seasons of life and the treatments use Thalgo products.

Camelot Spa Group acted as both consultants and operators on the project.

Next to open will be a second Zambia-based Camelot spa in Livingstone at the new David Livingstone Hotel while a further site will then open in Johannesburg at Villa D’Este House.

The group’s first estate spa will also open this month at the new Hazeldean Retreat Estate in Pretoria East.

A further seven projects are scheduled to open throughout Africa by the end of this year.
