Baccarat AsiaSpa Award winners announced

The winners of the 2006 Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards have been revealed.

The majority of Asia’s spa destinations won an award, including properties in India, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, The Maldives, China, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The Farm at San Benito, Philippines triumphed in two categories, winning the Medi-Spa of the Year and Spa Cuisine of the Year.

Four Seasons Resorts and Spas won both Exterior Design of the Year for its resort in Langkawi and the Marketing of the Year award, while Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts scooped the Spa Treatment of the Year for its Himalayan Healing Stone Massage and Interior Design of the Year for the Shangri-La Pudong spa in China.

The In-Spa Training of the Year award went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group while New Spa of the Year went to the JW Marriott Hotel’s Quan Spa in Mumbai, India.

Kirana Spa in Bali won Day Spa of the Year and the Maldives was named Spa Capital of the Year.

Other winners included Ananda in the Himalayas, India, which won Destination Spa of the Year and Spa Association of the Year was Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Council. ISPA Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, collected Spa Event of the Year.

A panel of 26 Asia-based spa experts were responsible for nominating the spas and resorts for this year’s awards. Details: www.adkom.com

Baccarat AsiaSpa Award winners announced

The winners of the 2006 Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards have been revealed.
