Everything we do at Bamford is led by nature and by a desire to work in harmony with it
– Carole Bamford, founder, Bamford
Wellness brand Bamford will open a private members fitness and health club in the Cotswolds on 31 March 2023
Called The Club, it's on the same site as the company's existing Wellness Spa at Bamford’s Daylesford Organic Farm
Sustainable features have been woven into the design, from the 25m pool’s biomass boiler to the 280 solar panels on The Club’s roof
Facilities include a gym, studio, outdoor courts and functional training area, spa and medical-led wellness clinic in collaboration with Effect Doctors
Luxury lifestyle brand Bamford is launching a private members club on the same site as its existing Wellness Spa which is located on-site at Bamford's Daylesford Organic Farm in the Cotswolds.

Surrounded by 3,500 acres of farmland Bamford provides fitness, spa and recovery facilities, along with a restaurant, and a doctor-led health clinic. The Club will open on 31 March 2023.

Founder Carole Bamford, who opened her first spa in 2004 as part of the Bamford’s original organic farming business Daylesford Organic told HCM’s sister title Spa Business that Bamford was a natural evolution from Daylesford and explained how nature- and sustainability-driven the team’s approach is.

“Everything we do at Bamford is led by nature and by a desire to work in harmony with it, to harness its powers and use them to nourish and soothe our bodies, but also to protect and support it,” she said. “We’re witnessing really creative ways of doing or producing things more sustainably and that gives me great hope. We need to keep identifying the game-changing solutions – the nature-based solutions – and technologies that are going to help shape that future.”

Bamford has designed a raft of sustainable features into the new facility. The 25m pool, for example, has been made from recycled stainless steel and is heated with a biomass boiler, uses renewable energy and emits less carbon dioxide than a traditional gas boiler. The filter system has been made from glass and excess water is repurposed for other uses on the farm.

Solar energy is harnessed by 280 solar panels from The Club’s roof and lighting is through integrated LEDs. Inside, the 340sq m gym space is kitted out with Technogym equipment and Stages smart bikes, and there are experts on hand to support members with rehabilitation, nutrition, body composition and provide customised programmes. There is also an exterior functional training area which includes tyre flipping, rope climbing, Olympic lifting and sleds, as well as padel tennis.

A studio hosts spin and group classes – holistic classes can be taken at the existing Wellness Spa. At The Source guests can find a sauna, steam room, experience shower, ice bath, outdoor infra-red sauna and heated outdoor plunge pool.

As part of a move towards science-led health support, all guests are offered a Well Person assessment through a partnership with Effect Doctors, a team of specialists and doctors. These include a full body and blood analysis, as well as intravenous infusions, intramuscular boosters, blood testing options and hormone replacement therapy referrals.

“I am a firm believer that our health and wellbeing goes beyond our physical selves, that respecting our planet and caring for it is where wellness really starts, so this space had to reflect our appreciation for the land it is built on,” said Bamford in an open letter addressing the forthcoming launch. “The answer was The Club.”

Membership starts from £2,250 per year with a £500 joining fee.
