Banyan Tree Holdings is preparing to launch its latest resort and spa property in Hangzhou in the historic Xixi National Wetland Park in south east China.
Soft opening in October 2009, it will be the group's fourth resort to open in China since 2005, following Banyan Tree-branded properties in Ringha, Lijang and Sanya.
The historic Xixi region, where the latest property will be located, was a favourite place of the Tang Dynasty poets, and was also the birthplace of the famed Dragon Boat Festival in 1465.
Banyan Tree has partnered with Hangzhou Westbrook Investment Company to manage Banyan Tree Hangzhou, which comprises 71 water terraces and villas. Each villa is also complemented by an outdoor heated jet pool.
The Banyan Tree Spa will have 10 indoor treatment pavilions, as well as a beauty salon, gym, a swimming pool and a yoga studio. Specially trained therapists will deliver Banyan Tree's signature series of spa treatments, inspired by traditional Asian remedies. In addition, the spa will also feature Japanese-inspired Onsen therapies. Details: banyantree.coms
