Brand extension for Knockouts
POSTED 07 Aug 2008 . BY Sarah Todd
The sports-themed men’s salon franchise Knockouts Haircuts for Men is to undergo a large brand expansion across the US.

Each Knockouts salon feature a staff of ‘Knockouts Girls’ in boxing uniforms and offer haircuts and colouring as well as manicures, pedicures, hair waxing and massages.

Stylists cut hair inside boxing rings while other amenities on offer include all cable and sports channels on flatscreen televisions with individual remote controls at each station as well as free beverages. Products used include American Crew, TiGi, Nioxin and Pharmagel.

There are Knockouts in 22 US states with 14 more sites due to open by the end of August 2008. The first international franchise will open in Cancun, Mexico, in November.

A total of 300 salons have already been sold in the US, with the ultimate aim of opening 1,000 locations. Further afield, there have also been inquiries from prospective franchisees in countries including the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Australia.

Owner of Knockouts in Framingham, Massachusetts Bing Yeo said: “Knockouts provides the perfect concept for full-service grooming for men. The under-served men’s segment is growing twice as fast as the women’s. Knockouts is a great alternative to discount salons, snooty women’s salons and barbershops.” Details: knockouts.net
