Eco Serendib Villa and Spa on the island of St John, US Virgin Islands, has launched a new conservation programme to protect local beaches from erosion.
The recently-opened resort is working with Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park on the scheme, which will see indigenous trees and shrubs reintroduced to the area.
Eco Serendib Villa and Spa already incorporates a range of environmentally-friendly measures such as energy-efficient appliances and rainwater harvesting in order to offer "eco-friendly luxury".
Among the resort's facilities is a full-service spa offering treatments either in-room or in an outdoor canopy. The spa also includes a far infra-red sauna and a relaxation area.
