A boutique spa has opened, located on a clifftop overlooking the ocean at the Quinta da Rochina resort above the Vila da Ponta do Sol in Madeira.
The On the Cliff spa and wellness centre has been designed by architect Tiago Oliveira and is focused on a purely holistic philosophy.
Facilities include two treatment rooms, a large steam bath, a hydromassage bath with views of the ocean, a hammam, a swimming pool and chillout area.
Signature treatments are body wraps using a combination of local fruits and algae. Other therapies – using Babor and Swiss Line products – include exfoliations, detox, facials, manicures, lymphatic drainage, hopi ear candling, hot stone massage, Indian head massage and shiatsu.
