Simone Gibertoni, CEO of Clinique La Prairie, has confirmed the company will open a longevity hub in New York’s Hudson Valley in 2028.

Gibertoni expects this Clinique La Prairie location to become the benchmark for longevity centres in the US.

The hub will be located within the new One and Only Hudson Valley following the agreement of a partnership with Kerzner International.

Kerzner recently announced the 21-acre property, which will have a 61-key resort and residences and be located next to prestigious culinary school, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA).

Developed by Nolan Reynolds International, guests of the One and Only Hudson Valley will have access to the CIA’s gastronomic programming and experiences that align with the resort’s approach to wellness and longevity.

Spa Business previously predicted that Upstate New York would be a hot spot for wellness travel, due to its impressive mountains, meadows, lakes and the growth in demand for outdoor-centric holidays.

This Hudson Valley resort will be the second time Clinique La Prairie and One and Only have teamed up to provide guests with a longevity hub. Last year Clinique La Prairie opened a centre in Dubai, which was the brand’s first location in the UAE at the One&Only One Za’abeel. The Dubai property marked the first urban outpost for One and Only.

In an exclusive interview with Spa Business in 2024, Gibertoni said "I’ve been the CEO of Clinique La Prairie since 2016 and have the pleasure of driving the international development and diversification strategy of this iconic Swiss brand.

"Our mission is to become a global player with the ability to help people live a longer, healthier and better life," he added.

"We have a team of 15 people dedicated to our international development and experts at our flagship in Montreux, specialising in disciplines from medicine to science to nutrition to wellness to hospitality and more, who make sure our global outposts encapsulate the expertise and experience of CLP in every detail," said Gibertoni.

Beyond its renowned Montreux headquarters, Clinique La Prairie has expanded its ecosystem with the opening of new health resorts and a network of city-based satellite sites, known as its 'longevity hubs’. The brand has already opened these in Madrid, Bangkok, Doha, Taipei and Dubai and has a stated aim of 50 properties.

The company has asecond health resort in Anji in China and another due to open this year in Amaala – the wellness-focused Saudi giga project as well as Phuket, Thailand.

Kerzner International has stated has stated it will never exceed 35 One and Only resort properties to preserve its sense of exclusivity. It currently has a portfolio of 15 resorts and 381 branded residences across the globe.
