Mandara Spa and Mohegan Sun introduce two on-property locations
POSTED 16 Feb 2017 . BY Rebecca Barnes
Hotel and leisure destination Mohegan Sun in Connecticut has opened a luxury Mandara Spa, while expanding amenities to the recently opened Earth Tower.

Mandara Spa Earth Tower will serve as an outpost to the main Sky Tower spa, scheduled to be renovated and rebranded as a Mandara Spa in 2017.

Rooted in Balinese tradition, the Mandara spa brand connects its Indonesian heritage to local influences at Mohegan Sun.

Situated on the ground level, the 2,800sq ft (260sq m) spa has a modern decor and clean lines. The waiting lounge showcases art and literature while materials and accessories including brass, bronze, gold, polished chrome, silver and stone, form an energy zone that emanates tranquility.

Designed exclusively for massage and facial therapies, on site are seven treatment rooms including a couples suite, six dual-use rooms, waiting lounge and retail area.

Stocking a curated range of Mandara Spa, Elemis and bliss products, guests can select from a menu of treatments and therapies, including signature treatments such as the Mandara Customised Massage, Mandara Signature Facial and the Fire & Ice Massage.

New York-based Kenneth Park Architects is the interior design and architecture firm for Mandara Spa Earth Tower and the 16,300sq ft (1,514sq m) Sky Tower spa, which is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2017.

“We’re thrilled to offer guests a beautiful new spa treatment area, and especially pleased it’s the result of a tremendous collaboration with Mandara Spa,” said Ray Pineault, president and general manager, Mohegan Sun.

“Guests will find this Spa to be an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable experience, as it goes right along with the overall vibe in our newly opened Earth Tower hotel. With Mandara also embarking on the remodel of our larger spa and salon in Sky Tower, Mohegan Sun will soon be home to a truly luxurious, modern and all-encompassing spa experience.”
