The inhabitants of one of the world’s smallest active volcanoes on the island of Luzon in the Philippines are reportedly attempting to block the impending construction of a resort spa on the island.
According to ABS-CBN, farmers and locals are opposing the Taal Volcano Spa Resort project of the Korean-owned Jung Ang Interventure Corp, claiming it is ‘a classic case of land grabbing’ and that they weren’t consulted about the resort at any stage by the municipal authorities.
