The World Happiness Summit (WOHASU) is gearing up to hold its first-ever World Wellbeing Policy Forum in London on 18 March 2024.

Founded by Karen Guggenheim in 2016, WOHASU is dedicated to elevating global wellbeing and raising awareness about the science of happiness.

In collaboration with the World Wellbeing Movement, the invitation-only forum aims to foster an international dialogue, focusing on strategies and global exchanges to enhance wellbeing worldwide.

Taking place at the London School of Economics, the event’s programme will explore the role that government, business, politics and education have to play in improving global wellbeing.

Speakers will include:

• Professor Lord Richard Layard – co-founder of the World Wellbeing Movement, co-editor of the World Happiness Resort, author and wellbeing science specialist.
• Dr Vivek Murthy – 19th and 21st surgeon general of the US (click here to see Murthy’s feature in Spa Business).
• Dr Diana Han, chief health and wellbeing officer of Unilever.
• Tracey Crouch, MP – UK Conservative MP and formerly the world’s first minister for loneliness.
• Kim Leadbetter, MP – Labour MP and co-author of the 2023 Healthy Britain Report.
• Sir Anthony Seldon – president of the International Positive Education Network.
• Dr Lucy Baile – CEO and founder of Bounce Forward.

WOHASU aims to achieve several pivotal outcomes from the event, including:

• Fostering an understanding of the economic and social impacts of implementing wellbeing policies.
• Exploring how such policies can alleviate mental illness, loneliness and disengagement.
• Sharing successful strategies for measuring wellbeing on a large scale.
• Compiling a follow-up best practices report which will be made available to the public.

WOHASU 2024
The World Wellbeing Policy Forum is a precursor to the WOHASU summit, now in its sixth edition, scheduled from 19-20 March at the Southbank Centre in London.

The annual two-day summit delves into evidence-based tools for enhancing happiness and fulfilment in both personal and professional spheres.

With a theme centred around "Purpose," the 2024 edition will feature a diverse lineup of 35 speakers, ranging from scientists to legal experts. It will address topics including the future of work, positive psychology, brain health, sustainability, economics, diversity, nutrition and more
