Fitness Express – which operates 26 health clubs in hotels across the UK – is set to launch a new spa facility at Park Farm Country Hotel in Norwich.
The new £500,000 Spa Express will enlarge the hotel’s existing spa – which was taken over by Fitness Express last month and currently focuses on hair and beauty using Mary Cohr products – creating a total space of 300sq m (3,300sq ft).
The new spa will include a hammam and a tepidarium.
Fitness Express’ first spa venture was the Sienna Spa & Health Club at the Radisson Edwardian Free Trade Hall Hotel in Manchester, which opened in 2004.
The group’s expansion into the hotel spa market follows the recent TRI Hospitality Consulting study which revealed that nine out of 10 hoteliers believed that guests are increasingly seeking spa experiences as an alternative to other leisure activities. Details: www.fitnessexpress.co.uk
