The Natirar Mansion – erstwhile the Jazz-Age home of American socialites and the King of Morocco – will be reborn as a Pendry Hotels lifestyle resort and residential community.

Situated in bucolic Somerset, NJ, the 33,000 sq ft (3,066 sq m) estate will comprise 24 private, whole-ownership Estate and Farm Villas with a selection of mansion residences and feature extensive leisure facilities, including a spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

The property's other highlights will include a restaurant, cooking school, a country club-style members' area, an organic farm, and a wealth of on-site nature trails.

Homes at Pendry Residences Natirar will also boast "natural wood and stone finishes, handcrafted millwork, and spacious balconies", as well as full kitchens, high ceilings, and gas fireplaces.

"We could not be more honoured to be stewards of Natirar," said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder, chairman, and CEO of Montage International – the parent company of Pendry Hotels.

He continued: "To be able to take one of the country's most idyllic country estates and reinvigorate it with new life that makes it accessible to guests, club members, and homeowners is an incredible opportunity."

Robert Wojtowicz, founder and lease-holder of Natirar (the property technically belongs to the Somerset County, who purchased it from the Moroccan monarch in 2003), commented: "We are offering a luxury product that Somerset County has yet to see.

"Providing effortless second-home living and access to 500 wooded acres, a 12-acre farm, and so much more, Pendry Residences Natirar is the perfect marriage of easy country living and estate sophistication."

The new destination is expected to debut in spring 2020.
