The Lisa Henry Jacobs Award joins three other sustainability accolades
The new award will honour an individual whose deep commitment to sustainability uplifts the community and reflects Lisa’s enduring values
The other awards will recognise a facility, an innovator and a newcomer – all making significant contributions to sustainability efforts
Finalists will be announced in early September and the winners will be revealed at the GSN Planet Sustainability Summit in October
Sustainability-focused trade association GSN Planet (Green Spa Network) has added the Lisa Henry Jacobs Award to its collection of sustainability accolades.

Jacobs died last year following a battle with cancer. She was a beloved industry veteran with more than 30 years of senior management and development consulting experience.

Jacobs guided the evolution of the GSN since its inception. She was an active board member, promoting eco-conscious spa practices and this eponymous honour will recognise a similar trailblazer championing sustainable living through connection, heart and purpose.

Maggy Dunphy, GSN Planet board president, said: “Lisa reminded us that one person can spark meaningful change. This award celebrates individuals who lead with heart and inspire others through their actions, proving that the power of one can transform communities and industries alike.”

The GSN Sustainability Awards will recognise excellence in four categories:

Sustainable trailblazer – The Lisa Henry Jacobs Award
This award will honour an individual whose deep commitment to sustainability uplifts the community and reflects Lisa’s enduring values.

Sustainable spa/wellness facility – The Michael Stusser Award
This award will celebrate a property that fully integrates sustainability across operations, resource management, procurement, programming and community engagement.

Sustainable innovator – The Tara Grodjesk Award
This accolade will reward a company or individual for demonstrating sustainability through product design, sourcing, packaging and innovation.

Sustainable newcomer – The Tracie Wertz Award
This award will recognise a new entrant on the sustainability journey who is achieving significant progress or impact.

Nominations are now open. Applicants may nominate themselves, a colleague or a business they admire.

Finalists will be announced in early September, followed by a voting period open to the GSN community.

Winners will be revealed and celebrated during the GSN Planet Sustainability Summit, between 19-22 October, at Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort and Spa in the India Wells, US.

GSN recently announced the formation of a strategic advisory board to advance sustainable wellness practices. Read more about it here.
