Susie Ellis, chair and CEO of the Global Wellness Summit (GWS), has announced Abu Dhabi as the host destination for the 2025 summit on the final day of the 2024 GWS.

The announcement – made during the event’s annual flag-raising ceremony, traditionally followed by a champagne toast – marks the grand finale of the 2024 event held this week in St Andrews, Scotland.

Dr Mohamed Yousef Almadfael of Shura Global Consultancy joined Ellis and GWS creative director Nancy Davis on stage, saying: "The UAE's wellness economy is thriving – representing 4.5 per cent of GDP.

"Our ambitions to expand wellness and wellness tourism are limitless and we aim to become a leader and a key driver.

"Our partnership with the GWS is essential in achieving our goals of not only advancing the wellness economy but also influencing the global wellness narrative," he said.
