Grand Luxxe has opened a new spa at its Mexican property Nuevo Vallarta on the Pacific coast, in addition to the resort's existing Brio Spa and Fitness Centre.

The Spatium offers 25 service rooms and six outside treatment rooms, each under a palapa roof and themed geographically, including Mexico, the Mediterranean, India, Italy and Thailand.

Unlike the Brio Spa it will be exclusive to resort members only.

Spa services and techniques include Mediterranean light massage with candle wax, an Asian bamboo massage, Swedish massage, hot stones, reflexology, deep tissue massage and facials.

Natura Bisse and Germaine Capuccini - both Spanish-based - will provide facial products for the spa and a Spatium line of organic products will be used for body treatments.

Last year the Grand Luxxe expanded Nuevo Vallarta and its only other Mexican property Riviera Maya near Cancun by a total of 315 new suites.
