A £2.5m spa is due to open in November at Headlam Hall country house hotel, near Gainford in County Durham, UK.

Headlam Spa will cover 1,400sq m (15,070sq ft) and will include a swimming pool, an outdoor hydrotherapy pool, a sauna, a steamroom, a poolside relaxation room and terrace alongside five treatment rooms.

The spa will also feature a lounge area, juice bar, brasserie bar, gym and studio plus seven en-suite bedrooms.

Signature treatments will be created by Thalgo and Aromatherapy Associates while the spa will also stock Nailtiques and the Ariane Poole make-up range.

Architects Corporate Edge were responsible for the spa’s interior design, the spa consultant was Gill Haines and the main contractor was Simpsons.

Headlam Spa will be the latest addition to the family-owned hotel – which also boasts a golf course and a driving range – and will be located between the hotel and the golf course. Details: www.headlamhall.co.uk
