Hyatt Hotels Corporation is to open the 307-room Andaz Shanghai - the first hotel under the Andaz brand in Asia - in Shanghai, China this summer.
Located in the Xintiandi area of the city, the new-build 24-storey structure is being developed by Metro Land Corp.
In addition to 262 standard rooms measuring 40sq m (430.5sq ft) and 45 suites ranging in size between 82sq m (883sq ft) and 193sq m (2,077sq ft), the hotel will offer a restaurant, brasserie, bar, lounge, a spa and pool and 1,300sq m (13,993sq ft) of function space.
Steve Haggerty, global head of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels said: "The addition of the Andaz brand in Shanghai - which currently has three Hyatt hotels - marks an important milestone for Andaz and we expect Andaz Shanghai to become the brand's flagship in the region."
The Andaz Shanghai will join five existing Andaz properties - the 5th Avenue and the Wall Street, both in New York, US; the Liverpool Street in London, UK; and the San Diego and the West Hollywood, both in California, US.
The company also has hotels under development in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Delhi, India; Papagayo, Costa Rica; Sanya, China; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands; and Wailea-Makena, Hawaii.
