First Hyrox Performance Centre launches in Berlin
The new model is a higher level of affiliation for the fitness racing concept
Hyrox Performance Centres benefit from a bespoke training environment designed by Hyrox
More Hyrox Performance Centres will be launched before the end of the year in the UK and Middle East
The first Hyrox Performance Centre opened this weekend, in Berlin. HPC Kreuzberg offers a facility which has been optimally designed to allow athletes to train for the fitness races.

Hyrox Performance Centre is a new and higher level of affiliation and is part of the three-tiered Hyrox 365 eco-system. The additional level is reserved for dedicated Hyrox facilities looking to create the ultimate training environment for athletes.

Hyrox 365 was launched this year to bring education, training and coaching under a single brand and to develop the a system of training, coaching and certification for the sport of Hyrox. More than 2,300 new clubs have affiliated this year, bringing the number of total affiliated clubs to 5,000.

David Magida, head of group training at Hyrox 365 says: “The Hyrox Performance Centre concept allows Hyrox to work directly with gym owners to create an optimised group training facility in which floor space is maximised for the highly specific programming for Hyrox.

“With geographic exclusivity and deep integrations with partners such as Concept 2 and Centr, we're able to co-operate with owners and operators who want to create the ultimate training facility for our rapidly growing global community.”

Facility owners interested in becoming a Hyrox Performance Centre have to enter an application process for their geographic area and secure a six-month exclusivity during which they enter into a feasibility assessment period. In a combined process with official equipment partners, Centr and Concept 2, Hyrox drills down into the credibility, founding team, financials and location to establish feasibility, optimal design and location.

Minimum requirements for a facility include usable gym floor space of 160-200 square metres. During the feasibility assessment optimal floor plans are established to ensure equipment and space work with the HPC group training model.

HPCs are granted geographic exclusivity within their area and groups and chains can establish multiple Hyrox Performance Centre locations.

Douglas Gremmen, managing director of Hyrox 365, says: “This offering caters to enterprise-level operators as well as individual owner-operators who want to create truly bespoke training environments for Hyrox athletes.

“We’ve been amazed by the level of interest shown in the HPC model across all regions and I’m pleased to see the first location open in Berlin, with UK and Middle East facilities also coming online in 2024.

"In 2025 we expect to see HPC locations operating in most countries we currently service, as well as many more across our new markets including China, India and Brazil.”

Depending on the size of the facility, hardware investment into the Centr and Concept 2 equipment is estimated at US$150-220,000. Affiliation costs are US$295 a month, with a 3-year minimum sign up.

The other two tiers of Hyrox 365 are the Hyrox Training Club and Hyrox Performance Coach. Hyrox Training Club is the standard model of affiliation and grants the facility the ability to offer Hyrox training, market their relationship with the brand and receive early access to tickets and access to the Performance Hub – a comprehensive digital ecosystem with a number of training resources.

Fitness professionals can become accredited as Hyrox Performance Coaches by completing the Hyrox Academy programme.

Gremmen says the company wants to expand beyond its current 600,000 active racers and provide a low barrier of entry to people wanting to experience Hyrox training and enjoy the community aspect of group exercise.
