Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced plans for the new Khorfakkan Resort and Spa development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Located on Al Suwifa mountain beside a private cove, the scheme is due to open in late 2015 and will feature two concepts - a Fort open to the public and a 170-suite resort for guests.
The Fort will be sited on top of the mountain and act as the main entrance point to the resort, which will feature a spa and gym with separated fitness areas for male and female users.
Swimming pools; restaurants; meeting facilities; and a water sports centre are also proposed, along with an outdoor sports and children's club.
A spokesperson for the project said: "Inspired by the region's traditional architecture and way of life, it will feature a five-star luxury resort and amenities catering to a discerning audience."
