Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre adds extensive spa facilities

The four-star Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre has added a brand new spa facility to its new accommodation wing, totally unconnected to the property’s existing Natural Elements Spa.

The 580-bedroom hotel includes 196 newly-constructed 52sq m (560sq ft) bedrooms in the Royal Club wing – where the new spa floor is also located – added as part of the property’s expansion plan. The five-star wellness facility features a traditional Middle Eastern marble hammam, including experience showers and a dedicated steambath. There is also a Nordic Russian Banya sauna that forms part of an alternating hot and cold experience, as well as a snow experience with rock glacier walls where temperatures descend to minus degrees for guests to cool down.

There is also a salt sauna with a backlit Himalayan design, a rasul room and body massage station. Barr + Wray designed and supplied the interior fit-out, all of which was completed in June.

“The focus of this new spa facility is to offer luxury thermal and hydro facilities such as a rooftop vitality pool, salt sauna, banya sauna and scrub room – which the existing spa has very little of,” a spokesperson for Le Meridien told Spa Opportunities. “There are also a couple of treatment rooms which we designed and built as part of the spa, to service the new hotel wing.”

The existing Natural Elements spa comprises seven treatment rooms, plus two wet rooms that offer hydrotherapy, and a pedi spa. There are also two thermariums which use aromatherapy for relaxation. The existing spa is supplied by Pevonia and ila.

Other facilities at the hotel include a choice of 18 culinary establishments, 5,000sq m (54,000sq ft) of conference space and a fitness centre.
