Spa guests can enjoy access to an indoor Roman bath-inspired pool, an outdoor pool with mosaic borders and a 24/7 fitness centre
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced the opening of a brand-new hotel and luxury spa in Morocco’s capital city of Rabat.

Marking the Marriott-owned brand's flagship property in Morocco, the 117-key Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam has launched with an opulent spa inspired by Moroccan healing traditions. The Ritz-Carlton Spa features a range of saunas and hammams, a plunge pool, separate men's and women's relaxation lounges and 10 treatment rooms – including two luxury couple’s suites.

Therapists provide branded treatments by Moroccan-inspired product house MarocMaroc and professional British skincare and spa brand ESPA.

The spa includes a central indoor pool area, inspired by ancient Roman baths, which features a glass roof that floods the area with natural light. The space has been completed with fluted columns with golden accents and porcelain to create a peaceful, timeless atmosphere.

Outdoors, spa guests can access a pool decorated with mosaic borders designed to reflect sunlight and create a shimmering effect. Surrounded by sunbeds and shaded cabanas, the space offers guests a tranquil oasis.

The hotel's wellness offering also incorporates a modern fitness centre open 24/7, with views of the bordering gardens and the prestigious Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

“The debut of The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam marks a significant milestone for the Ritz-Carlton brand as we expand our footprint on the African continent and celebrate our first property in Morocco,” said Helen Leighton, VP of luxury brands EMEA, Marriott.

“Our guests can expect the brand’s legendary service, sumptuous interiors and a stunning natural setting that together create a sanctuary of luxury and serenity in the heart of Rabat.”

Design details
The spa's luxurious and intricate interior design seamlessly extends throughout the rest of the hotel, creating a cohesive and refined aesthetic throughout the customer journey.

All guests arriving at the hotel are greeted in a grand lobby with a soaring ceiling, adorned with "muqarnas," a signature Arab-Andalusian architectural feature from the Almoravid era. In addition, a dome with geometric and floral patterns in green, gold, and red dominates the space, complemented by elegant chandeliers.

Meanwhile, the lobby walls are decorated with Moroccan "geb" frescoes, showcasing floral and geometric motifs that narrate Morocco’s history and legends.

Guestrooms and suites blend Baroque opulence with traditional Moroccan elements, featuring grand headboards with gebs, Baroque-style furniture, large mirrors and luxurious marble bathrooms.

Additional amenities at the Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam include four dining outlets, landscaped outdoor spaces and extensive meeting and event facilities.
