Marriott International announced it has obtained the management contract of the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida.
The resort was acquired by the CNL Hotels & Resorts in April 2004 from KSL Recreation and will now be managed by Marriott. CNL has announced plans to invest around $40m over the next three years to improve the resort.
Situated within 650 acres, the Doral Golf Resort & Spa has 692 rooms and spa facilities including 52 treatment rooms, a beauty salon, two aerobic studios, an indoor running track, three heated swimming pools and a restaurant.
The spa offers over 100 treatments which incorporate a range of massages, facials, body wraps, skin scrubs, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, reiki and stone therapy.
Don Semmler, Marriott’s regional vice president, said: “Doral has over 40 years of history that we will embrace and enhance with Marriott’s special brand of customer service.”
Doral joins Marriott’s portfolio of 60 resorts worldwide and is the second major joint spa resort development between the company and CNL.
In 2002, CNL and Marriott completed the $300m, 950-room JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.
