Sallie Fraenkel, president of Mind Body Spirit Network, and Casey Miller, president of Travelteerism, have joined forces to create a partnership blending spa treatments with unique travel itineraries and volunteering, for the ultimate in body, mind, and spiritual fulfilment.

The curated trips “enhance travellers’ connections to themselves and to people in the countries they visit,” according to the duo.

The partnership will initially roll out two Central American journeys for 2016, “A Mayan Touch” in Guatemala and “Barefoot Luxury” in Nicaragua, with costs of the trip starting at $2,945 (€2,609; £1,905).

The trips aim to “focus on opportunities to enhance wellness of the mind, body and spirit.” They will include no more than twelve people, and will feature experiences such as shaman cleansing and healing rituals along with volunteering opportunities at local schools and hiking active volcanoes.

The itineraries are billed as a way for travellers to “connect with and understand the socio-economic issues of the countries that they visit.”
