Luxury beachfront hotel The Nici in Bournemouth, UK, is planning to unveil the coastal town's first destination spa in April 2023.

The West Cliff destination is launching brand-new spa and fitness facilities as part of the next phase of its multi-million-pound refurbishment.

The first phase cost £20m (US$24.2m, €22.6m) and updated The Nici with 84 luxury bedrooms, garden hot tub suites, a restaurant, a bar and terrace, an indoor cinema and events facilities.

Marcus O’Leary, general manager of The Nici, said: “We’re delighted to unveil the next phase of our five-star development. The addition of a new luxury spa and huge outdoor pool will further transform the hotel into a year-round destination.”

A new coastal retreat
The vision for The Nici Spa is to offer a vibrant yet tranquil coastal healing sanctuary. With eight treatment rooms – including a couples room – The Nici Spa will be partnering with skincare and spa brands OTO CBD and OSKIA.

The beachfront spa will be home to a heated indoor pool and hydrotherapy pool, a poolside steamroom, an aromatherapy sauna and a relaxation room with crystal energy loungers to help guests return to their natural equilibrium.

With 10 miles of coastline to explore, the spa will host a programme of outdoor group fitness activities, from boardwalk runs and bracing sea swims to paddleboard yoga and beach fitness classes.

The Nici Spa will also feature an air-conditioned gym equipped by Technogym and offering access to personal trainers. In addition, there will be a studio space for stretching, one-on-one specialist tuition and a variety of fitness and wellbeing classes.

Guests will also be able to visit a retail boutique, offering a range of lifestyle products, from fashion and watches to books and skincare.

Outdoor pool and activities
The April launch will also see the hotel gain a new outdoor feature pool, complete with 60 luxury poolside loungers and cabanas (which can be booked for up to six people) and social sunken firepit gathering spaces.

The new heated outdoor palm-green pool will also offer submerged seating and an exclusive poolside menu.

The Nici Club
Locals will be able to become members of The Nici Club and use the spa and outdoor pool facilities, alongside exclusive offers for treatments, cabana reservations, day passes, food and drink, room rates plus access to invite-only events. An annual membership is priced at £1,320 (US$1,597, €1,499) while a monthly membership will cost £120 (US$145, €136).

Families, or those looking for longer stays, can also enjoy the hotel’s new Courtyard Rooms. They feature a living room and kitchenette and are available as one- or two-bedroom cottages, with full use of the hotel amenities.
