We know what a difficult time this is for families across the nation who balance the challenges of busy work schedules with the unexpected childcare requirements
– Tanni Grey-Thompson
ukactive Kids and sports equipment giant Nike have launched a service designed to help children achieve the recommended target of 60 minutes of daily exercise during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Called Move Crew, the programme was created using feedback and the expertise of primary school staff, elite athletes, children and coaches.

It aims to support teachers, parents and carers to get kids physically active by setting daily activity missions, which can be completed either at home with family members or at school with teachers and classmates.

A Nike athlete will announce a new weekly theme each Monday, while a new Move Mission will be released at every weekday morning at 8am.

Working with partners across the sports, activity and education sectors, ukactive and Nike are making the content accessible to kids across the UK, with a target age of 7-12 years old.

The Move Crew programme can be found at www.ukactive.com/movecrew and on ukactive’s YouTube channel.

“We know what a difficult time this is for families across the nation who balance the challenges of busy work schedules with the unexpected childcare requirements, while doing so in restricted environments," said ukactive chair, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

“Our partnership with Nike will offer families much-needed support, providing young people with free, fun and engaging activities."

The Nike athletes involved in the programme include UK sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, who revealed the first Move Mission on 20 April.
