POSTED 19 Jun 2015 . BY Tom Anstey
The Museum Garage is part of a larger masterplan by New York-based Nadine Johnson & Associates
A Miami parking garage will feature five unique facades designed by five different architects all to be incorporated into the same plan to turn the facility into an art piece in its own right.

Miami Beach real estate developer Dacra has proposed that a team made up of architects Keenan/Riley, Work Architecture Company, Clavel Arquitectos, Nicolas Buffe, and Jürgen Mayer-Hermann – all under the supervision of Terry Riley of the aforementioned Keenan/Riley – will develop five outlandish and wild facades, offering a unique look to the develop.

With interiors still to be decided, proposals have included suggestions such as a tube slide, contemplation garden, graffiti wall, pillow tank, water reservoir, car wash, climbing net, DJ space, auditorium, and temporal inflatable beach, just to name a few. What has been confirmed is the facility will act as a parking garage on the upper levels with shopping available on the ground floor along with various leisure facilities.

The Museum Garage is part of a larger masterplan by New York-based Nadine Johnson & Associates, which is made up of a mix of architecture, public art installations and luxury retail. The Miami Design District has just entered the third phase of its development with the construction of 20 new buildings to house 50 luxury and contemporary brands.

Scheduled for completion by August 2016, the third phase of development will see 100 stores come to the district. A condominium and hotel are also planned, with both of those scheduled to open in 2017.
