Pendle Leisure Trust creates buzz with launch of new group exercise programme
POSTED 10 Jul 2013 . BY Tim Nash
Pendle Leisure Trust has created a buzz with the launch of a new series of exercise classes at Pendle Wavelengths, Pendle Leisure Centre and West Craven Sports Centre.

The same classes, which are suitable for all fitness levels, ages and gender, will be run at all three centres, so that locals have the freedom to do the same class wherever they are.

Quammer Iqbal, Centre Manager at Pendle Wavelengths, said: "You could be at Pendle Wavelengths one day and Pendle Leisure Centre the next. Regular attendees should be able to pick up where they left off.

"All the trust's instructors have been through extensive training over the last few months to qualify to teach this latest craze. There will be eight different classes in total, but we are starting with two – Group Power and Group Kick. These fitness classes will produce results that are actually fun to achieve!

"The programme has been professionally designed by BTS in the USA – a division of The STEP Company, which invented the STEP phenomenon - that includes some of the world's most experienced programmers. New workouts are launched every few weeks, so that the music, moves and programmes never grow stale, and give you the results you want!"

More than 70 people packed the sports hall at Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne for the first Group Kick class, and the Group Power launch was full with 40 people taking part. The leisure trust is now running 15 classes across all three centres each week and most classes are booked up in advance.

The Group X Systems classes, distributed by Integrity Fitness in the UK, are Group Power®, a barbells-based strength training routine, Group Kick®, a martial arts class, Group Ride™, an innovative cycling programme, Group Centergy®, based on yoga and Pilates, Group Step®, Group Groove®, a dance-based class, Group Active®, a fusion of cardio, strength, balance and flexibility for new or infrequent exercises and the de-conditioned market and Group Core®.
