Piscina & Wellness 2017 expected to grow by 10 per cent
POSTED 22 Feb 2017 . BY Rebecca Barnes
With 70 per cent of its planned area already reserved, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will take place in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via area from 17 to 20 October 2017.

With 10 months to go, the show has already confirmed the presence of more than 130 companies from 12 countries, with an expected 310 plus exhibitors occupying a net area of 13,500sq m (145,312sq ft) - 10 per cent more than in 2015.

Piscina & Wellness Barcelona brings together leading manufacturers and distributors, as well as buyers, suppliers and opinion formers from more than 120 countries.

Because of its size, the Spanish pool market is very attractive to international companies. The show, which is organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Swimming Pool Sector Professionals (ASOFAP) will have a special focus on wellness and spa and water installation, and will highlight the main market trends based on innovation and eco efficient technologies.

Technical seminars and conferences focusing on wellness and public swimming pools will be held - visitors will also be able to see the real application of products and services offered by the exhibitors.

A new feature will be the live construction of the Demo Pool, a water installation showcasing the latest innovations.

The Wellness Experience space will also be recreated - this wellness centre with experts on hand will educate visitors on the latest trends in design, equipment and technology, as well as services and treatments.

The Innovation Zone is an area featuring and explaining the main innovations presented by the exhibitors. There will also be an area giving advice on internationalisation and financing for businesses.

The show will also stage the first competition for architectural projects for water spaces for architecture students, as well as the sixth edition of the traditional awards that bear its name and which recognise the most innovative and sustainable projects and products in the swimming pool, wellness and aquatic installation fields.

For the first time, the competition will also include two wellness categories, with prizes for the best wellness/spa establishment and best health and beauty treatment professional in the same field.
