Planning permission approved for Formby Hall's multi-million pound revamp
POSTED 23 Oct 2018 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
Sefton Council has approved plans to transform Formby Hall into a 'world class' leisure resort
Plans to transform Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa in Liverpool into a 'world-class, multi-purpose resort' have been approved by Sefton Council.

The resort, which is operated by CS Hotel Solutions, will undergo an £18m revamp that will include a hotel expansion, new spa facilities, event space and a new golf club, as well as 20 lakeside 'eco lodges'.

The new golf club will be spread across two storeys, and will feature event space with a 300-guest capacity and bar and restaurant facilities. A new reception building is also planned, as well as a health club.

The hotel will also be undergoing an expansion, and will see the addition of a two-storey wing with 43 guest rooms with ensuite bathrooms and views of the golf course.

The spa will be located in a lakeside property and will be designed to make guests feel as if they are floating on the lake. It will boast 12 treatment rooms, and a number of relaxation areas, as well as a host of thermal experiences, indoor and outdoor vitality pools and a terrace offering stunning views of the lake.

The resort will also see the addition of four lakeside 'eco-lodges', designed for overnight stays, as well as the conversion of the current spa and leisure facilities into additional guest rooms.

Christopher King, director of CS Hotel Solutions, said: "It has been great to have the support of Sefton Council in approving our plans, and we are grateful that they have been able to share our vision and ambitions for the resort.

"We are confident that these redevelopment plans will not only reposition the resort as a world-class destination, it will also further enhance the region's attractions to tourism, which already boasts some of the best golf courses in the world, including Open venues, as well as an outstanding coastline and of course the major draw; Liverpool itself."
Plans include a state-of-the-art spa and a new golf clubhouse
