The Ritz-Carlton, St Louis has unveiled a new fitness centre and spa featuring indigenous therapies inspired by Missouri’s natural elements.

The urban retreat spa uses ESPA skincare products, and includes treatments such as a Missouri Red Rock Massage – which is inspired by the volcanic rocks at the core of some of Missouri’s most spectacular scenery – and the Missouri Black Walnut Massage, which harnesses natural elements by using sticks carved from locally-sourced black walnut.

The fitness centre includes the latest in strength, balance and cardio equipment, complemented by a dedicated stretch and free-weight zone.

A contemporary locker area and new steam and sauna facilities replace a prior swimming pool.
