Rocco Forte resort to open in June

The 124m euro (US$158.2m, £111.3m) Rocco Forte Verdura Golf and Spa Resort on the southern coast of Sicily is on schedule to open in June 2009.

The resort will have two championship golf courses as well as a spa complex with four thalassotherapy pools, 11 treatment rooms and a swimming pool.

There will also be an open-air amphitheatre and a private beach.

Designed by the Italian architect Flavio Albanese, the property will be the first resort in The Rocco Forte Collection. Details: roccofortecollection.com
