Less is more, when guests stay in the hotel, they will feel away from the hustle and bustle of the city, retreat to a place of inner clarity and find their real selves
– Ronger Kane
Chinese interior designer Ronger Kane has designed a minimalist hotel to showcase his “less is more” approach to creating spaces where people can feel truly at ease.

The White Sail Hotel at the Seven-Star Bay Yacht Club, located in the Chinese city Shenzhen, is a restrained, white-clad building dedicated to sports and leisure.

“Leisure resides in physical and mental relaxation and pleasure,” said Kane. “Our designs focus on how to make guests feel at ease and relaxed after taking exercise.”

Kane's studio Rongor Design have created a transition between spaces and scales “to create a rhythm for the holistic space.” The interiors are as simple as possible, with only bamboo furniture and marine-inspired artworks used as decorations.

“Less is more, when guests stay in the hotel, they will feel away from the hustle and bustle of the city, retreat to a place of inner clarity and find their real selves,” said Kane.

Kane, who is also director of China institute of Interior Design, is known for his hospitality designs, which combine traditional and contemporary practices to create spaces of wellness.
