The group behind The Serenity Spa, Tom’s Companies, is to open a new urban day spa in Newcastle, UK, in September.

Called Serenity in the City, the 3,000sq ft (280sq m) spa will be located in Jesmond.

It will be a smaller version of the existing County Durham-based Serenity Spa, with seven consulting rooms, including two couple’s rooms and a male wet shave room.

Other facilities at the spa, which will have an Asian influence throughout, will include an outdoor hot tub, a tan area and a nail bar.

Serenity in the City’s designer, Jocelyn Maxfield, was also responsible for the design of the County Durham-based Serenity Spa.

She said: “Serenity in the City will be a haven of luxury and tranquillity in the city centre and an easy way to relax and feel good.”

Company chair, Tom Maxfield, added: “After conducting extensive research, we believe that Serenity in the City will satisfy a demand for men and women who want to relax and be indulged in style. All aspects of The Serenity Spa will be incorporated into a state of the art facility that is just what Newcastle needs.”
