European spa group Sothys has opened its first signature spa in the United States – on Fifth Avenue in New York.

The three-storey, 5,000sq ft (460sq m) spa – which is inspired by its sister spa in France, L’Institut Sothys Paris – houses 10 treatment rooms and a luxurious hydrotherapy room.

Facial treatments include Sothys Digi-esthetique massage, which targets dehydrated, ageing and lifeless skin, while body treatments are focused around the Thalassothys, Aroma-Sothys and Cellusothys programmes.

Sothys operates spas in hotels across Japan, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
