Hotel Matilda, a privately-owned property located in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, has unveiled a new 4,700sq ft (437sq m) spa concept.

Under a Tree Consulting - a branch of Amy McDonald Associates - helped to develop Spa Matilda, which situated within a tranquil garden setting.

Guests to the new spa are greeted by a liquid wall with an infinity-edge pool situated above, with facilities inclding a private Hammam for individuals and couples.

Four treatment rooms include a couple's room; a wellness studio for yoga and Pilates; and a luxury suite with meditation garden, steam shower and a soaking tub.

Other facilities include a pre- and post-treatment area, with two patios and an indoor/outdoor relaxation lounge. A fitness suite equipped with cv and resistance machine also features.

Natura Bisse and Primavera are among the companies to supply Spa Matilda, which offers a range of treatments and massages.

Amy McDonald said: "We created Spa Matilda within the context of our underlying belief that an integrated program of personalised treatments provides the foundation for a truly authentic spa experience."
