A facility called KidneySPA has opened in Miami, Florida, US, aimed at transforming the negative aspects of kidney dialysis into a more positive, spa-like experience.

Created by Dr Juan Mauricio Cuellar, KidneySPA provides treatment for those suffering from advance chronic kidney disease.

Before dialysis, patients receive hand massages in oversized chairs while music is played.

Each patient also has a ‘care coach’, enabling each of their senses to be stimulated during dialysis and encouraging patient productivity, such as watching a concert, painting or learning a new language. Details: kidneyspa.com
