Spa by Clarins launches at Royal Palm Marrakech

The Spa by Clarins launched this month at the Royal Palm Marrakech hotel, Morocco – which became the first Beachcomber Hotel-operated property outside of the Indian Ocean when it opened in May.

Located within a 231-hectare estate 12km (7.5m) from Marrakech, the 135-key hotel’s Spa by Clarins has been designed to resemble a Moroccan palace. It offers six single or double hammams and one hammam for four to six people. The hammam ritual involves a body scrub combining Moroccan spa taples black soap and honey-scented argan oil. The wet zone in the spa was provided by Hydroconcept Monaco.

The facility offers a number of areas reserved for women only, in addition to eight single treatment cabins, two couples’ cabins featuring balneotherapy, plus two double cabins and one single cabin for affusion massage.

Group yoga classes are available at the spa’s yoga pavilion and there is also a relaxation area and fresh juice bar. The Spa by Clarins sits adjacent to the hotel’s sports centre, which comprises a heated 25m (82ft) pool, Pilates studio, cardio room and fitness suite.

Signature treatments at the spa include the ‘Supreme Rose’ aromatherapy massage combining pressure techniques, stretching and vibrations. The facility’s ‘Body Wrap with Ghassoul Clay and Spices’ is described as a traditionally Moroccan purification and toning body treatment.

The hotel also has an 18-hole golf course, designed by Cabell B Robinson.
