The 1,300sq m spa ranges across two floors and partially occupies what used to be the safes of a bank
In addition to treatment rooms, the spa has three private spa suites with their own thermal facilities
Each suite booking includes a 50-minute treatment per person and access to the main spa facilities
Treatment protocols are by 111Skin and organic Swiss brand 72k

Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden in Baden-Baden, Germany, opened earlier this year following extensive renovations and now its reimagined Vault Spa and Suites have launched too.

The heritage of the city centre property was preserved by architects DK Studio and the interiors were adapted by Bachhuber Contract. The project required ambitious construction solutions, including building directly in the waters of the river Oos.

The 126-key hotel’s updated spa now measures 1,300sq m across two floors and partially occupies what used to be the safes of a bank.

With a spa and healing destination heritage that has endured for more than two thousand years, this new Baden-Baden spa pays homage to those traditions. The design uses premium materials, warm lighting and understated aesthetics to create a relaxing atmosphere.

Steigenberger Icons representatives say every moment within the spa has been crafted to slow the rhythm of body and mind.

Holger Flory, GM, Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden, told Spa Business: “The Vault Spa and Suites embody the essence of modern elegance. Set within the historic vaulted cellar of a former bank, it unfolds as a place where serenity and sophistication meet contemporary luxury – a refuge where relaxation becomes an unparalleled experience.”

In addition to treatment rooms, the spa has three private spa suites, available for one or two guests, which each feature their own sauna, steambath, relaxation area and guests can have optional in-room treatments. Each suite booking includes a 50-minute treatment per person, access to all spa facilities, refreshments and a skincare peeling ritual that is applied and removed by the guest.

All 13 treatment beds have been supplied by Bellezi.

The main spa facility’s thermal zone has a sauna, steambath, sensory showers and steam-filled quiet zones.

There is also a tea lounge for relaxation between treatments.

A gentleman’s barber offers classic shaves, haircuts and beard grooming.

There is also an indoor pool and a fitness area.

Treatments

The Vault Spa and Suites’ core spa philosophy is focused on individualisation, where customised rituals are tailored to guests’ requirements.

High-performance facial treatments are by 111Skin – from firming and lifting rituals to detoxification therapies and intense hydration.

A Swiss brand called 72k is also providing treatments with a focus on natural and organically-grown ingredients, such as Artemisia annua (also known as sweet wormwood).

The hotel

The hotel is operated by Feuring Hotelconsulting under the umbrella of the Steigenberger Icons brand.

The Steigenberger Icons brand is part of H World – an operating group with another seven brands in its portfolio.

The Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden has three dining venues and was recently awarded a Michelin Key by the Michelin Guide.

Baden-Baden is located on the northern slopes of the Black Forest, offering hotel guests a range of nature experiences, such as access to hiking trails.
