The five pillars are movement, nutrition, bodywork, breathwork and mindfulness
The aim of the new framework is to harmonise the company’s Indian traditions with principles of mindfulness

The concept will be introduced across Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in India first, with plans to expand the philosophy internationally in 2026
The Oberoi Group has introduced a lifestyle framework called ASMI by Oberoi, designed to integrate wellness throughout its properties to enhance the guest experience.

The concept will be introduced across Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in India first, with plans to expand the philosophy internationally in 2026.

ASMI in Sanskrit means “I am”, and the brand has five pillars of wellbeing that stem from the extended concept, “I am my choices”.

Movement, nutrition, bodywork, breathwork and mindfulness are elements rooted in the Indian philosophy of Pancha Kosha – which views human wellbeing across five layers of existence.

The aim of the new framework is to harmonise the company’s Indian traditions with principles of mindfulness.

ASMI will offer guests, in a non-prescriptive way, to enhance their physiology and biochemistry through movement and healthy eating. Recovery and rest will also be on offer, alongside breathing and mindfulness exercises for grounding.

Each ASMI guest journey will begin with a reflective wellness assessment called I Am Aware. Participants will be guided to recognise their current state and set a direction for how they want to feel.

These responses inform a personalised programme per guest across the five pillars, including cuisine that supports energy, recovery and clarity.

The Oberoi Group’s properties will feature in-room wellness cues, personalised rituals, bodywork therapies and guided practices that foster alignment. Home-care items and guidance will be provided for guests to continue their progress beyond their stay.

The Oberoi Group’s AVP of Spa, Dr Anuradha Mathad, and wellness consultant Bryan Hoare created ASMI by Oberoi.

Mathad said: “ASMI integrates the depth of Indian wisdom – Ayurveda, mindfulness, yoga and breath work – with practices supported by science. Each element is authentic and designed to bring meaningful benefit. Guests can begin from any point in their lifestyle and move at their own pace.”

Hoare said: “ASMI is a lifestyle model built on five simple bases for living well: movement, nutrition, bodywork, breath and mindfulness. We start with physiology and biochemistry. We secure recovery and rest. We build presence in daily moments. We open room for deeper meaning. The design is integrated, personal and made for real life.”

Vikram Oberoi, CEO of The Oberoi Group, said, “ASMI by Oberoi is a living philosophy. It reflects our belief that true luxury creates experiences with lasting effect on body, mind and spirit. With ASMI, wellness becomes personal and transformative, carrying the authenticity of India while resonating with guests worldwide.”

The framework can currently be experienced at both The Oberoi Sukhvilas Resort and Spa, Siswan Forest, New Chandigarh and The Oberoi Vindhyavilas Wildlife Resort, Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh.
