An eco-friendly upscale retreat in Antigua called The Verandah Resort and Spa has opened.
Situated on the island’s north-east coast, the retreat is a member of the Elite island Resort group and provides views over the reef-protected waters of the Dian Bay.
The large Tranquility Spa at the resort features a number of rejuvenating and exotic treatments which draw inspiration from a variety of international sources.
Signature therapies include the Thai Yoga Massage and Sabai Stone hot stone treatments.
Other attractions at The Verandah include two sheltered beaches, a freeform swimming pool, a fitness centre and a mini-cinema.
There are also hiking trails available for guests as the resort is bordered by the Devil’s Bridge National Park, with its dramatic landmark rock arch.
The resort also offers a selection of restaurants and bars and accommodation is provided by 200 villa-style suites.
Built on only 12 of an available 30 acres, the resort is also in the process of receiving green certification, which is expected to be confirmed shortly.
