CEO, Colin Waggett, predicts the wellness megatrends will continue in 2025
Luxury London health club operator, Third Space, launches its 13th club – and fourth this year – on Monday (9 December) at Richmond Upon Thames.

This tops off an exciting year, following the launch of new clubs in Wood Wharf, Battersea and Clapham Junction. The growth will continue into 2025, with further openings planned.

Colin Waggett, CEO of Third Space says: “The opening of Third Space Richmond is a significant achievement and is a part of our ambition of bringing world class fitness to all Londoners, both at home and in the city.

“Third Space Richmond provides a space for people to workout, unwind and escape from the rush of central London if they wish. Our goal is to go beyond physical fitness, providing services and facilities to support members across the full spectrum of health, from nutrition, to mindfulness, wellness and recovery.”

Facilities include a state of the art gym and Eleiko strength training area, which includes a two-lane track and rig and free weights area.

A recovery zone will offer amenities such as Hyperice Hypervolt, Hypersphere, Vyper vibrating foam rollers and Normatec recovery boots.

The wet area includes a 20 metre swimming pool and a hydropool.

There are four studios: a 20-person reformer Pilates studio; a 30-person mind and body studio; a group exercise studio, offering signature clases – such as Sweat X, Lift, Pulse and Metaburn and an indoor cycling studio.

In keeping with the rest of the estate, the design has been top of mind, with sculptural arches, natural stone and glass, warm lighting and tonal green interiors to reflect Richmond’s natural surroundings.

Membership start from £240 a month, rising to £305 a month for access to all 13 clubs.

Waggett will be giving his 2025 predictions in the January HCM: “Overall the main things remain the main things. People want quality experiences, which is all about getting the all important service fundamentals 100 per cent right.

“The mega trends of experiences not things, wellness and premiumisation all continue to play out. The growing trend of inner motivations being as much about mental health and happiness rather than losing weight will also continue.

“This shapes not only why people come but also what they look for when they come. People want community – call that club in club. Events that are new experiences.

“Recovery and hot and cold therapy are all in much demand and reformer Pilates is having a massive moment – perhaps it is the perfect intersection of strength training and mind and body?”
